SERVICES:

Comprehensive health services are provided to identified villages in the Jasra block and in the urban areas through the Urban Health Centre located at Allenganj. Services are also provided to the community in the Pulse Polio Program and other programs of National Importance in coordination with the CMO.

 

PATIENT CARE STATISTICS:                        

The department of Community Medicine deals fundamentally with preventive aspects of disease and the care given is in the form of immunizations, Vitamin A supplementation, ORS distribution and counseling on various issues. Total Immunization done in the UHC at SRN Hospital in 2006-3971.Total Immunization done in the UHC at SRN Hospital in Jan ’07 to June’07-1946.

 

RESEARCH & TRAINING:
Research activities are carried out in the field pertaining to Biomedical Waste Blindness, DOTS Program, Hepatitis B. Research papers have been published and presented in various conferences by the Faculty and Post graduates. State and district level trainings have been carried out in Vector Born Diseases, HIV, Iodine Deficiency Disorders, BSPM activities with special focus on Vitamin A supplementation in the year 2006-07.

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES ORGANISED:  
Workshop on Japanese Encephalitis. Workshop on Iodine Deficiency Disorders. Seminar on Leprosy. Seminar on AIDS. 

Achievements:                                    

The Department is enriched with the addition of three lectures in 2006 taking the strength of the faculty to five. The Government of U. P. has accepted the baseline data for up prepared after survey on the reproductive child health program of all the 70 districts of U. P. for which this department carried out the survey in 8 districts. The post – graduates qualifying from this department are immediately absorbed in the teaching faculty of various medical colleges or by UNICEF/ WHO or similar organizations.

NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN THE DEPARTMENT:

The addition of Faculty members has increased the quality of teaching and training. The department has been able to procure two new buses and two new jeeps for field level activities of the students and interns. Two villages in Jasra block and the slum area of Dhahariya have been taken up for complete enumeration and giving comprehensive health services.

FUTURE ENDEAVORS:
The department intends to start Post Graduate Diploma Course in Maternal and Child Health in collaboration with IGNOU and also a diploma course in Nutrition.
