Professors: Dr. P. C. Saxena, Graduate from MLN Medical College, Allahabad in 1972, Post Graduate from MLN Medical College, Allahabad in 1976 and D.M. (Cardiology) from Kanpur University in 1979. Joined as Lecturer (Cardiology) on 12.6.80, as Reader (Cardiology)on 15.01.86 as Professor (Cardiology) on 14.1.99, and as Principal and Dean Faculty of Medicine, M.L.N.Medical College, Allahabad on 10.5.2006.

Resident Doctors: There are two in First year, one in Second year and two in Third year for every two months on rotation.

SERVICES:

                        Outdoor patients are seen from 8:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on everyday except Sunday. Emergency cardiac patients are attended 24hrs. Electrocardiogram (E.C.G), Treat Mill Test (T.M.T), Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) , X-ray and 2-D Echo Colour Doppler investigations are provided to all Cardiac patients as per their requirements. Above all, Pacemaker is also implanted largely to the patients of Complete Heart Block.

                        Outdoor Patients : 14,400 during year 2006-07

RESEARCH & TRAINING:

                        The research work is carried out as a part of Post Graduate thesis. We guide the research work in the capacity of Supervisor, Co-supervisor. About 5 to 7 thesis are being supervised every year. Frequently, Medical Officers from District hospitals are being sent for training of 2-D Echo Color Doppler machine.

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES ORGANISED:

                                    Organised VII Annual Conferences of CSI of U.P. Chapter in February, 2001 at MLN Medical College, Allahabad. Organised Vth Mid term Conference on Preventive Cardiology in September, 2005 at MLN Medical College, Allahabad. Taking P.G. clinics, case presentation and teaching every Monday, 9-10 AM., Taking Lecture of Final Year class every third Tuesday of month, 12-1 P.M., E.C.G. Class every Wednesday, 9-10 A.M., Undergraduate Clinics every Thursday, 10:30 – 12 Noon and recent advances Seminar every Saturday, 9-10 A.M.. Attending OPD on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN THE DEPARTMENT:

                                               The department is equipped with T.M.T. machine, Two 2-D Echo Color Doppler machines, 8 Bedded I.C.C.U. with Bed side Monitors for constant vigil on patients, Infusion Pump and Pulse Oxymeter etc.

FUTURE ENDEAVORS:
                                                Making efforts to start D.N.B. (Cardiology) and D.M. (Cardiology) Courses in M.L.N. Medical College, Allahabad. Catherization Lab. Is likely to be installed in near future.
