Professors: Dr. K.G.Singh Prof. and HOD since 1997—is well known at National level as Pioneer Dematosurgeon from U.P. Has been awarded WHO fellowship. Has been awarded prestigious Ambady oration at National Conference of IADVL and SAARC nations conference at New Delhi and also attended and presented paper in International Congress of Dermatology at Paris. Has published more than 25 papers out of which 10 papers in International Journals.

Lecturers:Dr. Sudha Yadav—Joined in August 2006 and actively involved in department activities.

Department providing following services for the patients:--

1.     Running OPD’s

2.     Indoor Patient Care

3.     National STD and AIDS Control Programme

4.     Leprosy Control Programme (Registering Max. No. of patient in Allahabad)

5.     Oraganizing:-

a.     National AIDS Control Day.

b.     National Leprosy Day

c.     And many other social awareness events

6.     Dr. K G Singh is also attending Army Hospital to provide them specialist services regarding patient care.

PATIENT CARE STATISTICS:  

One of the highest no. of patient in SRN Hospital, Allahabad in Monday, Wednesday and Friday OPD ranges between 200-300 patients per OPD approximately 30,000-35,000 OPD patients are examined in the OPD per year. In indoor serious patients of skin ailments like pemphigus, Drug exfoliative dermatitis etc. are being admitted in ward. However indoor wards needs repair and new proposal for OPD and indoor is already there.  

RESEARCH & TRAINING:

                        Till date Department is an under graduate department still more than 100 papers have been published out of which about 25 paper in International Journals. No. of theses has been guided by the department.

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES ORGANISED:                                    

1.     For the last 5 years department is organising mid session clinical case conference of IADVL U.P. Branch

2.     Department has organised National Conference on Wound Care in 2004.

3.     Department has organised 3 state Conferences of IADVL.

4.     Organised National Workshop of All India Cutenous Surgeons of India Rejuvination-2007.

Achievements:

1.     The Department had made its contribution in Deratosurgery and Contact Dermatitis at national level.

2.     Dermtosurgery is the 1st pioneer unit in U.P. with a lot of procedured like:-

a.     Vitiligo (Leucoderma Surgery)

b.     Hair Transplant

c.     Acne Scar Management

d.     Radio Surgery

e.     Cryo Surgery

f.     Chemical Pilling

g.     Microdermal Abersion

3.The Department is active involved in National Leprosy elimination programme and National  

    STD and AIDS Control Programme.

4.     Dr. Singh HOD of Department had been Elected as President and Secretary of IADVL U.P.

      Branch. At present, he is Vice President of  Association of Cutenous Surgeons of India. He has been awarded WHO fellowship National Ambady oration and presented paper in International Congress of Dermatologist at Paris, Kathmanudu, Dharan and delivered No. of Lectures at National level at Kolkata, Chandigarh. He has been invited to join as International faculty in STD and AIDS International Diploma Course at Bangkok in 2004 and he also had been part of selection committee of faculty members in different universities and PG examiner for number of universities. He is member of a number of Academic bodies.

NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN THE DEPARTMENT:

1.     Department has proposed for P.G. MD and Diploma Course in coming session.

2.     Department had developed dermatosurgery and cosmeticsurgery units as a pioneer institution in U.P. and has got recognition in National field that’s why it is holding National workshop of Association of cutaneous surgeons of India.

FUTURE ENDEAVORS:

          The Department is proposing two major research project:

1.     Melancyte culture

2.     Stem Cell Research
